Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer 2
With not much notice or hype, the second trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has dropped today, and it certainly did not disappoint. It is very spoiler happy but it certainly shows Marvel know what they’re doing with our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
Firstly just touching on the spoilers, I wasn’t really happy with how much of the story this preview has given away. Within this trailer we see why the villain, The Vulture played by Michael Keaton, is so unhappy. For whatever reason he has a gripe with Tony Stark, and feels he deserves the same amount from life as what the playboy has. They also reveal in this trailer that Peter Parker is way out of his depth with some aspects of his world saving, which causes Tony to lose trust in him, as he is nearly directly responsible for the death of civilians, until Iron Man bails him out. I feel this whole situation should have been left out of this teaser. It even goes as far as showing us that Tony takes the suit, that he created for Peter in Civil War, off of him, and Peter ends up having to use his homemade get up. This all made for a really fun trailer, but these are parts that would have made the film that much better if we were unaware they were going to happen.
Putting aside the massive spoilers within the trailer, it really shows that the film is going to be fun, exciting and action packed. The Vulture is a great villain, and Keaton looks to really bring him to life on the big screen. I personally hope we don’t have too much of Tony Stark, as RDJ can steal the show a lot of the time, but on the same token if used correctly, he can really take that film to the next level. Tom Holland has a lot of character, and it seems to really shine through in this trailer. A brilliant casting for Spider-Man, as he's arguably the most charismatic hero in the Marvel Universe. I look forward to seeing more of him in the film itself.
Spider-Man is my favourite Marvel superhero, therefore my standards are extremely high for this film, but from what I have seen so far, I am not going to be disappointed. Bring on 7th July 2017.
